Wayne State University Offers Scholarship For Journalists

Wayne State University Journalism offers:
One (1) Four Year Full Tuition Scholarship
and
One (1) $5000 Robert McGruder Scholarship
Qualifications:
· 2011 high school graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or above
· Major in Journalism at WSU, beginning Fall term 2011
· Admitted to Journalism Institute for Media Diversity Learning Community
· Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
· Complete a print, broadcast or digital journalism internship each term
Apply by forwarding the following by Friday, Feb. 18:
1. A 1000 word essay on the role of the journalist, why you plan to enter the field of journalism and why you think diversity in the media is an important goal.
2. Two writing samples. School newspapers or assignments are acceptable.
3. A resume of school and community activities.
4. Most recent high school transcript.
5. Two recommendations – letters or their contact information.
